Sunny and warm today and part of tomorrow. Then, it's out with the wellies

There's a hint of summer in the air for Ireland today, with temperatures set to hit as high as 20C.

Forecasters say the day will be dry and bright with hazy sunny spells.

It will be a little cooler in the northwest and parts of that coastline could have some rain late this evening.

Do make the most of this fine spell, though, because as Joan Blackburn from Met Eireann explains, it could come to an end tomorrow.

"Most of the country will enjoy dry conditions with some sunny spells. But in the north west, it looks like some light rain will turn persistent and heavier during the day.

"It looks like that band of rain will cross the country on Saturday night, leading to a wet start on Sunday."
