Governments and oil companies are being challenged to boycott oil from Sudan, with claims by Irish aid agencies that the cash generated is being used to fuel a war machine.
Trócaire says European companies are buying supplies from the Sudanese Government which is using the cash to fund its 30-year civil war in the south of the country.
The news comes amid fears of a new famine in the country, with Eamonn Meehan of Trócaire saying that the world cannot just turn a blind eye to the situation.
