Stripper at Leaving Cert party 'not appropriate'

The appearance of a stripper at a Dublin nightclub to celebrate the end of the Leaving Cert is being slammed.

Glamour model and stripper Chelsea Ferguson, who has more than 650,000 followers on Twitter, is due to host the celebrations.

She is scheduled to appear at Eden Nightclub in Ballybunion, Co Kerry on Tuesday and also Tomango's in Portmarnock on Wednesday night.

A spokesperson for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre says it is not an appropriate way to celebrate finishing the exams.

"I think it's not the way to encourage young people to celebrate after their Leaving Certs," said CEO Ellen O'Malley Dunlop.

"Certainly it's really important that young people do celebrate - they've been through a really tough time over the last couple of weeks, but I think it's no initiation for young people to expose them to this type of exploitation."
