One person has been injured after a stolen ambulance crashed into a bus in County Louth.

One person has been injured after a stolen ambulance crashed into a bus in County Louth.

The ambulance was taken from the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and was driven down the Ballynakenny Road where it crashed into a coach.

There were no passengers in the coach at the time and the driver is understood to have suffered bruising in the collision and is intensive care in hospital.

However, the man driving the stolen ambulance has been taken, by another ambulance, back to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital for treatment.

Gardaí in Drogheda are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at lunchtime to contact them.
