Staff at Cavan hospital set to strike

Siptu members working in Cavan General Hospital's laundry have served strike notice on the company.

Laundry workers at the hospital will down tools from Wednesday, June 8, in a dispute over the outsourcing of the service to a private company.

In a statement this afternoon, Siptu organiser Sean Nolan said: "The outsourcing of our members work, which is a breach of local and national agreements, has left them with no option but to vote for strike action."
