Six arrested in Galway drugs crackdown

Gardaí have arrested six people in Galway as part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of heroin, cannabis and other drugs in the city.

The Divisional Drugs Unit in Galway has been running an operation since last August to target local street dealers along with other known national dealers.

At 7am today, an arrest operation got underway and six people were detained and brought to Galway garda station.

They are due to appear before a special sitting of Galway District Court later today.

Gardaí say further arrests are expected.
