Simon Community: Govt policy on homelessness 'has already failed'

The Simon Community says the Government's promise to end homelessness by the end of 2016 has already failed.

The charity is launching a new campaign today urging the coalition to make homelessness a priority.

It says only 17% of those on the social housing waiting list around the country will be filled this year.

Earlier this month Focus Ireland said there are up to 5,000 people in need of a home across Ireland each night.
