The funeral of the Minister of State Shane McEntee will take place this Monday, on Christmas Eve.

The funeral of the Minister of State Shane McEntee will take place this Monday, on Christmas Eve.

The 56-year-old died suddenly at his home yesterday morning.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen and four children Aoife, Vincent, Helen and Sally.

His remains will be removed from his home tomorrow evening to St Patrick's Church in Castletown Co Meath.

His funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11am, followed by burial at Nobber cemetery.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has led the tributes to Minister McEntee, describing him as a loyal friend and a dedicated servant of the people of Meath.
