A search is continuing for a missing Spanish fisherman after he fell overboard from a trawler off the South West coast at around 4am this morning.

A search is continuing for a missing Spanish fisherman after he fell overboard from a trawler off the South West coast at around 4am this morning.

The man went overboard from the Ecco- homo 25 miles south west of the Mizen Head in moderate seas with Force 5 winds.

The Irish Coastguard Sikorski helicopter from Shannon, is currently at the scene carrying out sweeping searches.

RNLI Lifeboats from Baltimore and Castletownbere will be joined in the search by the Naval vessels the Le Aisling and Le Emer, as well as local fishing boats.
