Ryanair Pilot Group backs Dunnes workers in zero-hours contracts dispute

The Ryanair Pilot Group (RPG) has today voiced its support for workers at Dunnes Stores, describing zero-hour contracts as “an affront to every worker’s right to earn a living wage”.

The RPG, which claims to represents the majority of Ryanair pilots, says that new-entry pilots who wish to fly for the company must accept these form of contracts.

According to group, more than 60% of pilots operating for Ryanair are contract workers.

In response, Ryanair stated: "Since this is a group of KLM, Air France, Aer Lingus and other competitor airline pilots, their occasional releases have zero credibility.

"They do not represent any Ryanair pilots."
