Rosslare customs seize €38,370 cash from Polish national

Following routine profiling, officers from Revenue's Customs Service in Rosslare Europort, seized €38,370 when they stopped and searched a male passenger, in his thirties, who disembarked a French ferry today.

Following routine profiling, officers from Revenue's Customs Service in Rosslare Europort, seized €38,370 when they stopped and searched a male passenger, in his thirties, who disembarked a French ferry today.

Revenue's sniffer dog, Alfie, gave an indication and the cash was discovered on the person and in the luggage of the Polish national.

The cash was seized in accordance with the proceeds of crime legislation.

In Gorey District Court later this afternoon, officers were granted a 3 month detention order by Judge Clyne, in respect of the cash, in order to carry out further investigations.
