Gardaí are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery in Ratoath, Co Meath.
At around 2pm, two men armed with an imitation firearm threatened and held up a security guard outside a service station on Fairyhouse Road.
It is understood they took a cash box - containing an undisclosed sum of money - and left the scene in a silver Mazda car.
The car was abandoned a short distance away at Cairn Court and an imitation firearm was recovered inside.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information and in particular any sightings of a silver Mazda Premacy car (partial registration "00 SO”) with two males onboard in the vicinity of Ratoath Village shortly before 2pm this afternoon.
