Some 90% of those eligible to pay property tax have now done so.

A total of €200m had been collected by the end of September, according to the latest figures from Revenue.

Until the end of September 2013, the county with the highest property tax compliance rate was Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, at 92%, with €21m paid.

The Dublin City Council area has paid €32.4m, with a compliance rate of 87%.

Fingal in north Dublin, Kilkenny, North Tipperary, South Tipperary and Wicklow have a compliance rate of 91%.

The lowest compliance rates at the end of September were in Donegal and Louth, at 84%.
