Primary teachers accept Lansdowne Road Agreement on public sector pay

Primary teachers have voted to accept the Lansdowne Road Agreement on public sector pay.

The ballot of INTO members was 64.7% in favour and 35.3% against.

Last month, the union's executive recommended its 34,000 members accept the proposals, which will see public sector workers receive a pay increase of €2,000 over the next two years.

The INTO says the flat rate increase will benefit lower paid teachers and is an important part of the deal.
