The latest opinion poll ahead of next week's election is predicting a major slump for Fianna Fáil in the Dublin constituencies.

The latest opinion poll ahead of next week's election is predicting a major slump for Fianna Fáil in the Dublin constituencies.

The survey commissioned by the Evening Herald suggests the party's vote could fall eight points to 29%, with Fine Gael rising seven points to 22%.

Elsewhere, Labour is unchanged at 15%, the Greens are on 8%, Sinn Fein 11% and the PDs 3%.

The figures put the outgoing Fianna Fáil-PD coalition on 32% - well behind the proposed alternative Government.

Fine Gael and the Labour Party are on 37%, rising to 45% when the Greens are included.
