Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in South Dublin.

Shortly before 8pm last night, an altercation broke out between three men on the Luas platform at Milltown.

A man in his 20s sustained stab wounds, before two Luas security guards intervened in an attempt to break up the fight.

One of the security guards was also injured and taken to hospital. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí arrested two men. One, aged in his 30s, is being detained at Rathmines Garda Station.

The second man, aged in his 20s, was also taken to hospital for treatment.
