Orange Order demonstration goes ahead with large police presence
An Orange Order demonstration has passed off so far without incident in Belfast this evening, despite a large police presence in the area.
It is the third week in a row that a parade has been held - a protest by the Order passed off peacefully last week.
Tensions are high following violence in the city this month, and marchers have been banned from passing through the traditionally nationalist Ardoyne area.
Unionist MP Nigel Dodds said the parades are not designed to cause trouble.
"The way in which this protest has been organised has done a lot to diffuse tensions," he said.
"I think that people are here today in a good humour but very determined to see justice and morality prevail."
