An Offaly man on trial for abusing four young family members told a detective he never had any sexual thoughts about his step-daughter because she was "too skinny and scrawny".

The defendant's two daughters and two step-daughters have all given evidence that they were abused during their childhood by the now 64-year-old man.

The accused man has denied all of the allegations made against him and claims his daughters are lying.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reason, pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to 100 charges of sex assault and oral rape of four girls on dates between May 1989 and December 2006.
