There's no end in sight to the wet weather.
Strong winds are expected to continue today, and rain looks set to stay with us for the rest of the week. The water will add to already swollen rivers meaning inland flooding is very likely.
The National Coordination Group, which is taking charge of the response to the recent severe weather, says levels in the Shannon, Barrow, Nore and Slaney are particularly high.
"It's basically unsettles for the next week or so," said Met Éireann forecaster David Rogers. "Whether that's going to amount to any specific problems, that's difficult to say."
