Over 49,000 struggling borrowers now have deals in place with the banks to permanently restructure their mortgages.

Over 49,000 struggling borrowers now have deals in place with the banks to permanently restructure their mortgages.

The latest figures from the Department of Finance show over 3,800 mortgages were permanently restructured in the month of October.

The figures also confirm a minor fall in the number of mortgages in arrears of over 90 days.

However one-sixth of all mortgages held in the State are still behind schedule in their repayments.
