Thousands of people have taken part in two major marches against water charges in Limerick and Cork city centres this afternoon.
The 'Bin The Bills' protest in Limerick, which was organised by the 'We won't pay' campaign, encouraged people to postpone paying water bills, which were sent to homes across the country earlier this week.
TD Paul Murphy addressed protesters at the Limerick gathering saying non-payment of the bills is the only way to win.
He said: "We're here to spread the message of non-payment, that we are on the verge of a really decisive victory against the austerity agenda.
"What happens in the next couple of months is going to be absolutely crucial."
In Cork, Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins called on the anti-water charge movement to run candidates in every Dáil constituency.

Around 1,200 campaigners heard Mr Higgins say: "Should we not consider in the general election itself putting up anti-austerity candidates in every constituency against the parties of the water charges?
"Should we not run candidates to take them on in every constituency, to knock out Fine Gael, to knock out Fianna Fáil and above all to knock out the treachery of the Labour Party?”
