A new poll has found that more than half of all adults in Ireland believe tax exiles should not be entitled to hold Irish passports.

A new poll has found that more than half of all adults in Ireland believe tax exiles should not be entitled to hold Irish passports.

According to a Red C opinion poll for the Sunday Times which found only 26% of people surveyed said they should be given a passport.

More than 5,500 Irish passport holders are claiming tax exile status at a €170m cost to the State every year.

Some 440 of those are considered to be 'super-rich' individuals.
