More than 40,000 drop health insurance in past six months
Up to 41,000 people dropped their health insurance in the year to the end of June, according to the Health Insurance Authority this morning.
The figures show 11,000 of those gave up their policies in the second quarter of this year.
Just over two million people now have private insurance around the country - down from the peak of nearly 2.3 million at the end of 2008.
