More strong winds forecast for today
Met Éireann is forecasting heavy rain and strong winds across the country by this afternoon.
Stormy conditions are expected again tonight with coastal parts of the south and west the worst affected.
After weeks of bad weather it looks set to stay changeable for the month of January.
Forecaster John Eagleton says while this morning may seem calmer, storms are set to return.
