There is an alert in place for heavy rainfall in parts of the country.

There is an alert in place for heavy rainfall in parts of the country.

The status yellow alert is in effect until tomorrow morning at 6am for parts of the west and north-west.

Met Éireann are predicting 30 to 50mm of rain will fall Mayo, Leitrim, west Galway and Donegal, with mountainous areas expected to be at the highest risk.
