A male in his late 40s is scheduled to appear before The Criminal Courts of Justice this morning charged in connection with the robbery of a pharmacy yesterday.

A male in his late 40s is scheduled to appear before The Criminal Courts of Justice this morning charged in connection with the robbery of a pharmacy yesterday.

At 10.50am Friday morning a man entered a pharmacy on Eden Quay Dublin, alone, armed with a hammer.

He threatened staff and demanded money.

He escaped with a sum of money and fled the scene. No one was injured.

An off duty garda observed the suspect and following a foot chase at Custom House Quay the suspect was arrested with the assistance of gardaí from Store Street.

The money was also recovered.

The man was detained at Store Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He is scheduled to appear before Court No.1, The Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street at 10.30am this morning charged in relation to the incident.
