A man is in a serious in condition in hospital after he was shot up to six times in Dublin overnight.

A man is in a serious in condition in hospital after he was shot up to six times in Dublin overnight.

It is understood he suffered a number of injuries in the incident at Parslickstown Green in Mulhuddart just after 8pm.

The man, who is in his 30s, is said to be from the locality.

He was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he is in a critical but stable condition.

The scene of the shooting has been cordoned off. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
