A man killed in an east Cork crash early today was visiting Cork for a bank holiday weekend wedding, it has emerged.
The Evening Echo reports the man was not local and had come to east Cork to attend a wedding over the weekend.
The identity of the man has not been confirmed, but it is understood he came from the Tulla area of east Clare.
The 33-year-old man died just after 5am this morning after being hit by a car on the Midleton side of Castlemartyr, on the N25. The female driver of the car was not injured, but was being treated for shock.
An ambulance rushed the injured man to Cork University Hospital but he was pronounced dead a short time later. A post mortem was due to take place today.
