A man aged in his 50s is in a serious condition after being shot in Cabra in North Dublin this evening.

A man aged in his 50s is in a serious condition after being shot in Cabra in North Dublin this evening.

The man was shot twice on Killala Road at approximately 7pm.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was brought to the Mater Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Investigations are continuing.
