Man held in Belfast over flag-protest comment

A man has been arrested in connection with comments made on a social media site about flag protests.

The 28-year-old was detained in north Belfast and remains in custody.

It is understood his comments were made on a social network site such as Facebook or Twitter.

The remarks were linked to loyalist Union flag protests, one of which is being held today in Belfast city centre.

Police warned members of the public of possible disruptions and advised motorists to follow traffic diversions.
