Investigators are trying to establish when the man died. His remains were found at a first-floor apartment in the Linnbhla complex at Santry Cross, Ballymun yesterday.

The man, who had been stabbed, was found after an emergency call to gardaí. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.

Superintendent David Taylor of the Garda Press Office said that anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area over the last five days should contact the incident room at Ballymun garda station on 01 6664400.
