A man aged in his 60s was killed in a road accident in Co Kilkenny today.

A man aged in his 60s was killed in a road accident in Co Kilkenny today.

The accident occurred when the man's car collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle near Paulstown at approximately 4pm this afternoon.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Waterford Hospital. There was nobody else in the car at the time of the accident.

A section of the road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
