A man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Limerick this morning.

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Limerick this morning.

The single vehicle crash occurred on the R513, between Caherconlish and Hospital Herbertstown, around 5.30am.

Two units attached to the Cappamore Fire Service responded to the scene, along with local gardai, and a HSE ambulance crew.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem.

Gardai said the road will be closed for a number of hours, and have advised motorists to take alternative routes.
