A 22-year-old man has appeared in court this morning charged in connection with the murder of Edward O'Connor.

The 41-year-old was gunned down on the Ballycoolin Road, in Finglas in Dublin last Sunday.

This morning, David Cully, with an address at Kilsane Road Finglas West was charged with his murder.

Mr O' Connor was shot repeatedly in the back as he walked away from a fist fight on the Ballycoolin Road.

Reports suggest the fight had been arranged between two men following an altercation in a pub in Finglas earlier that weekend.

The incident was allegedly part of an ongoing feud between the groups since last year.

No application for bail was made and free legal aid was granted.

Mr Cully was remanded in custody to appear in court again next Friday.
