A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a crash that led to the death of a male pedestrian in North Dublin over the weekend.

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a crash that led to the death of a male pedestrian in North Dublin over the weekend.

The victim, a man aged in his 40s, died after being hit by a car on North Street in Swords in the early hours of Saturday.

Desmond Collopy of Landen Road, Ballyfermot, is facing one charge of dangerous driving.

There was no application for bail today and the 29-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Friday.
