Major search resumes for man missing off Donegal coast

A major search will resume this morning for a man missing off the coast of Donegal.

The 28-year-old man - who is understood to be a member of the Defence Forces - got into difficulty while swimming in the sea off Tullan Strand, near Bundoran on Tuesday.

Those involved in the search include the Malin Head Coastguard, 120 members of the Defence Forces, the Bundoran RNLI, Killybegs rescue boat and the Coast Guard helicopter based in Sligo.

Shane Smyth is a volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer with Bundoran RNLI: "We'll be continuing the search for as long as it takes.

"It will be an intensive couple of days for us and all of the rescue agencies that are assisting us as well.

"We will continue until we have found him."
