The Mahon Tribunal report has hit the headlines internationally as well as at home today.
The Washington Post says: "Former Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern received at least €209,000 in secret payments while in office, and repeatedly told lies about this under oath."
It refers to the Mahon Tribunal as "a mammoth fact-finding investigation".
The French news agency AFP has called it a "landmark corruption probe" which has found that "Ireland's ex-prime minister Bertie Ahern lied about bank deposits which led to his resignation".
Bloomberg reports that the "government-appointed probe" concludes Bertie Ahern's explanations on the source of "substantial funds" he received were untrue.
