An overjoyed lady and her family collected a cheque for €2m at the National Lottery Offices in Dublin today.
The winning ticket was bought on Saturday, June 27, in the village of Adare, Co. Limerick.
As the lucky lady celebrated her win with a glass of champagne, she said: "I was driving through Adare and a spot was free outside the shop, so I popped in and bought an ice cream and a Lotto ticket. If the spot wasn’t there, I would have driven on past."
She bought a €4 Quick Pick ticket in Centra on the Main Street in the village, and won €2m in that night’s Lotto draw.
When asked how she would spend the winnings, she said: "I’ll not take-off on a cruise just yet, but I plan to share it with the family."
The Lotto jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on 27 June 2015, and on Saturday the jackpot will be around €4.5m.
