Lost woman rescued from Bray Head

A young woman was rescued from Bray Head today after she called Garda Control Centre saying that she was lost and disorientated with her surroundings on Bray Head

After the call at approximately 5pm as darkness fell this evening, Gardaí immediately contacted their colleagues at Bray Garda Station and the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team.

Contact was maintained with the woman via her mobile phone and the Garda Air Support Unit was launched.

She was asked to turn on a torch which she had in her possession to indicate her location to the Air Support Unit.

A search commenced by the Garda ASU and within a very short period of time the Garda ASU found her using a Night Sun (light) which is fitted to the aircraft.

The ASU remained overhead to allow the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team to reach and rescue her.

She was taken into the care of the Mountain Rescue team and suffered no injuries during the incident.
