The local community in Kilcolgan in Co Galway is in mourning after the death of an eight-year-old boy during a farm accident yesterday.

The local community in Kilcolgan in Co Galway is in mourning after the death of an eight-year-old boy during a farm accident yesterday.

The young boy passed away in University Hospital Galway yesterday afternoon.

The Health and Safety Authority has sent an inspector to investigate the cause of the incident.

Fr David Cribbin, parish priest for the Ballinderreen and Kinvara parishes has said the death, just days before Christmas, has hit the community hard: “They are a fantastic family and they are very very well known,

“They are well loved by everybody so they are and the parish is Ballinderreen is extremely warm and friendly with a tightness, a very supportive community and they are just shocked beyond words.”
