Junior health minister Kathleen Lynch is in the intensive care unit in a hospital in Co Donegal.

The minister was visiting the flood-damaged wing of Letterkenny General Hospital when she was taken ill.

It is understood that her illness may be the recurrence of a previous condition.

The organiser of the MacGill Summer School, Joe Mulholland, said the minister would not be attending this afternoon as planned.
