An Irish man is among four salvage workers arrested on suspicion of illegally boarding the stricken Costa Concordia cruise ship to search for souvenirs.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that the Irish man, a Briton and two South Africans, have been detained.

The four have been released on bail.

The vessel smashed into rocks off the Italian island of Giglio in January 2012 and capsized, leading to 32 deaths.
