Irish authorities ask Google for 10 users' info in first six months

Authorities in Ireland asked Google for information relating to Irish users accounts 10 times in the first six months of the year.

The requests related to a range services such as Gmail, YouTube and Google Docs.

Google's latest Transparency Report also shows that officials here make such requests less frequently than other authorities in Europe.

There were 10 requests in total for user data from 10 separate users, and Google reports that it complied with three of those requests.

Irish authorities also made two requests for Google to remove content from their search results, and the company complied with one of those requests.

There were no court orders requiring removal of content - instead, the requests came from either the government, police, or similar body.
