IMO to plan response to fee cuts for doctors


The Irish Medical Organisation, which represents doctors in Ireland, will meet in Dublin today to develop its industrial relations strategy.

The group warned yesterday that GPs will not be able to cope with plans to extend free care to patients, regardless of income, with long-term illness.

In Budget 2013, the Government also announced its plans to save €70m this year by cutting fees for GPs, pharmacists and others.
