The Health Minister Simon Harris is planning to improve the food being served in our country's hospitals.

Mr Harris has asked all the hospitals to send him their menus to see what patients are being fed.

According to the Daily Mail, Minister Harris intends to study the menus and work with professional chefs to create healthier options.

The health watchdog Hiqa has previously reported that malnutrition affects one in four hospital patients.
