Dublin taxpayers footed a €635,000 bill to cover the cost of last Halloween's clean up.

Officials removed 750 tonnes of bonfire material throughout the city, while 1,200 tyres were collected as part of the clear up operation.

The cleanup figure covers Dublin city alone, and includes the call out charges for the fire brigade.
