Talks between the social partners on securing €2bn cuts in Government spending have wrapped up for the day.

Talks between the social partners on securing €2bn cuts in Government spending have wrapped up for the day.

The parties will return to Government buildings tomorrow as Tuesday's deadline draws closer.

Much of today's discussions focussed on what is known as "flex security".

This is a process whereby redundant persons see their income fall gradually instead of suddenly while simulataneously receiving state training.
