Gardaí will carry out a forensic examination tomorrow of the area where a body believed to be that of missing man was found in Wicklow.

26-year-old Stephen O'Meara has not been seen since he left his home in Rosehill in the county on August 6 last.

Gardaí searching for Stephen O'Meara discovered a body in a wooded area in Ballydonnell near Red Cross in Wicklow this afternoon at 2.30pm.

The father of three has been missing for over four months from his Wicklow home.

The scene was sealed off and a team from garda forensics will examine the scene today, while a post mortem will be carried out on the remains tomorrow.

Meanwhile a man in his twenties is still being questioned over Mr O'Meara's disappearance.

He was arrested earlier this week and is being held at Wicklow garda station.
