Gardaí are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man, after he fell from a height at a Sligo hotel over night.

Gardaí are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man, after he fell from a height at a Sligo hotel over night.

It is believed the man, from Co Meath, was outside trying to get into the Sligo City Hotel at around 1.45am this morning when he fell.

He was taken to Sligo Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2am.

The death is not believed to be suspicious. A woman was also injured in the incident – though her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
