The body of a man recovered from a bog in Oristown in Co Meath has been named as that of 45-year-old Gerard Daly.

Gardaí identify human remains found in Meath bog

The body of a man recovered from a bog in Oristown in Co Meath has been named as that of 45-year-old Gerard Daly.

Mr Daly had not been seen since he left his home in Bailieboro in Cavan three years ago.

A burnt-out car was also recovered at the scene - believed to have been stolen in Kells 11 years ago.

An investigation is ongoing.
